FAQs
What is the OnePlus Student Ambassador Program (SAP)?

SAP is a student-led community program where students build the OnePlus brand on their campus through content, events, and culture. It is not a traditional internship; it is a performance-driven community leadership program.

Who is this program for?

Students aged 18–24 who are active community builders with a strong interest in tech, gaming, AI, photography, or lifestyle, and who want to drive real impact on campus.

What makes SAP different from other ambassador programs?

SAP focuses on three things: owning campus culture, building ecosystems, and driving measurable impact rather than simply promoting the brand.

Is there a fee to join?

No. SAP is completely free to join.

How long is the program?

Typically, 6–9 months, aligned with academic cycles.

Who can apply?

To apply, you must:

  • Be currently enrolled in any UGC-recognised college or university in India
  • Be aged between 18 and 24
  • Own and actively use a OnePlus smartphone (mandatory)

The program is open nationwide. There is no restriction by city or institution ranking.

Why is owning a OnePlus device a requirement?

SAP is built on authentic advocacy. Ambassadors speak credibly about products they use daily. Applicants without a OnePlus device are not eligible for the current cohort.

What does the selection process look like?

Four stages: (1) Application submission, (2) A content-based task or assignment, (3) An interview round, and (4) Final onboarding.

What qualities are you looking for in candidates?

Creativity and originality, consistency in content or community work, a strong campus presence, and a Never Settle mindset.

Do I need a large social media following to apply?

No. OnePlus values engagement over follower count and creativity over raw reach.

What will I be expected to do?

Create regular content based on briefs, drive campus engagement through gaming events, Masterclasses, and college fests, and collaborate and represent OnePlus authentically.

Will I be assigned a specific role?

Yes. Ambassadors are aligned to two interest areas: Gaming and Lifestyle.

How much time does this require?

Approximately 3–4 hours per week on average, depending on your activity level and goals.

Can I join other ambassador programs simultaneously?

There is no conflict of interest with a directly competing smartphone or consumer electronics brand. When in doubt, contact your program manager before joining another program.

What agreement do I sign when I join?
  • Content rights:Original content you create remains yours; however, OnePlus is granted a non-exclusive licence to repost and amplify it across official channels with credit.
  • Disclosure:Every sponsored post or brand-linked piece of content must carry a clear disclosure (e.g. #OnePlusAmbassador or #Ad) in line with ASCI guidelines.
  • Confidentiality:Product information shared ahead of launch dates must be kept confidential until the official release.
Will I receive a fixed stipend?

No. SAP follows a performance-based model. Rewards are earned through points accumulated for output, engagement, and execution - not a fixed monthly stipend.

What kind of rewards can I earn?

Gadgets (smartphones, tablets, audio devices), branded merchandise, vouchers, exclusive OnePlus experiences, and certificates.

How does the tier system work?

There are four tiers. Points are calculated monthly by the internal dashboard.

How are points earned?
  • Content post (meets brief)
  • Content post (featured by OnePlus)
  • Hosting a campus event
  • Event attendance driven
  • Collaboration with another ambassador
  • Monthly engagement milestone
  • Points are reviewed monthly, and tiers are adjusted accordingly.
What happens if I perform well throughout the program?

Strong performers move up tiers, unlock better rewards, gain more brand visibility, and access exclusive opportunities, including post-program retention.

What happens if I don't meet expectations?

You'll first receive structured feedback and a stipulated improvement period. If performance remains low after that window, you may be asked to exit the program.

What kind of content should I create?

Content should be authentic, campus-relevant, creator-first and not ad-like.

Which platforms count, and how often must I post?

Instagram

YouTube

LinkedIn

X

OnePlus Community Forum

(All content must be posted from your own public account.)

Will I receive content guidelines?

Yes. You'll receive weekly or monthly briefs covering themes, focus, and content formats.

Can I use my own creative style?

Absolutely. Your personal style is your strength. Originality is encouraged alongside brand alignment.

Will I be organising events?

Yes. Depending on your role, you may host gaming tournaments and organise MasterClasses.

Will OnePlus support these events?

Yes. Support may include branding materials, logistics assistance for selected activations, and guidance from the OnePlus team.

Can I collaborate with clubs or societies?

Yes, and it's encouraged. Ideal partners include gaming clubs, tech societies, and cultural committees.

Will I be part of a wider community?

Yes. You'll join the OnePlus Community.

What networking opportunities will I have?

You can interact with OnePlus teams, connect with OnePlus Community members, and participate in exclusive brand events.

Will I have a mentor or point of contact?

Yes. Each ambassador is assigned a dedicated Program Manager who serves as your primary point of contact for briefs, feedback, event approvals, and escalations.

What brand resources will I have access to?

Ambassadors receive access to a private resource hub.

How will day-to-day communication happen?

Primarily through WhatsApp groups, email, and the internal dashboard. Your Program Manager is reachable on working days within 24 hours.

What does 'successful completion' mean?

To be certified as a program graduate, you must meet all three of the following by the program's end date:

  1. Point threshold
  2. Content consistency
  3. Organizing events
Will I receive a certificate?

Yes. Upon successful completion (see above), you'll receive an official OnePlus certificate and formal recognition of your experience.

How can this program benefit my career?

You gain real-world brand experience, a portfolio of campaigns and content, and strong differentiation for roles in marketing, product, and brand management.
