The "2025 OnePlus Photography Awards" (hereinafter referred to as "the Awards") is a mobile phone photography contest launched and operated by OnePlus Technology (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “OnePlus”, "the Sponsor", "the Committee", "we", "us", or "our"). Please read and fully understand these Terms and Conditions before participating. The terms "You" or "Your" as used herein may also refer to "Participants," "Winners," or "Winning Users" as relevant within the context. Please pay particular attention to the Rules, License Clauses, Disclaimer and Liability Restriction Clause, and Dispute Resolution Clause. Disclaimer and Liability Restriction Clause are highlighted in bold for your attention. You should read them carefully.

General Clauses

You are qualified for the Awards only if you are eighteen (18) years old.
You have the right to opt for or against participation in the Awards. Your part or full participation in the Awards will be deemed to fully understand and agree with the entire content of these Terms and Conditions, including the rules and the interpretations stipulated herein.
The judging process in the Awards apply only to the entries that comply with the rules. Participants shall be held responsible for any adverse consequences arising from their failure to comply with the relevant laws and regulations and the rules.

Grand Winner: Photo of the Year

The winner will receive a cash prize of USD 10,000, a winner’s certificate, a OnePlus 13 device, and the title of "OnePlus Photography Ambassador", with potential future collaboration opportunities with OnePlus.

OnePlus Group: Winners in Main Categories

Gold Prize: 5,000 USD * 1 (per category)

Silver Prize: 2,000 USD * 2 (per category)

Bronze Prize: 1,000 USD * 3 (per category)

All winners will win a OnePlus 13 device, a winner’s certificate, and the title of "OnePlus Photography Expert", with potential future collaboration opportunities with OnePlus.

Public Group: Winners in Main Categories

Gold Prize: 5,000 USD * 1 (per category)

Silver Prize: 2,000 USD * 1 (per category)

Notes:

All cash prizes mentioned above are tax inclusive, and will be paid in USD. In case any winner can only receive local currency, the exchange rate as of June 30, 2025, 11:59 PM (UTC+8) will be used. The winners shall solely bear all the taxes including but not limited to personal income tax subject to applicable laws and regulations.
OnePlus will announce the winners of "OnePlus Photography Expert" and "OnePlus Photography Ambassador" titles, and the winning entries will be showcased on its website, emails, social media, and other communication channels without additional notice or consent.
The OnePlus 13 device may slightly vary depending on the winner’s country or region. Its recommended retail price is available at oneplus.com.

Who is Eligible to Participate in the 2025 OnePlus Photography Awards?

Smartphone users worldwide who have full capacity for civil conduct as stipulated by laws and regulations in the country or region where they reside. Specifically, entries in the "OnePlus Group" must be shot by OnePlus smartphones, with no requirement for the model; entries in the "Public Group" have no requirement for the smartphone brand or model.

Detailed Rules for Submissions

Participants may choose to enter 1-3 competition categories, with a maximum of 15 entries per category.
The entries must include complete EXIF information. Missing EXIF information may affect the judging process and the results.
Entries can be submitted to multiple competition categories but can only win in one category.
Entries must be photographed not earlier than February 7, 2023, 11:59 PM (UTC+8).
Entries must be in JPG, JPEG, PNG, DNG, HEIC and HEIF formats, and file size should larger than 3MB and not exceed 10MB.
Entries must be photographed and edited by the participants themselves. The use of any desktop image processing program, automated or AI tools to generate, edit, or enhance the content of the photos is strictly prohibited. Only basic edits such as brightness, contrast, white balance, and saturation via installed mobile phone editing apps are allowed. Composite and other modifications altering the original content are strictly prohibited.
Entries that have won any awards in any other photography contests (including social media contests) or been published (excluding free sharing and reposting on social media platforms) are not eligible to participate.
Prior to the Winner Announcement on August 19, 2025, if an entry wins any awards in any other photography contest or is published (excluding free sharing and reposting on social media platforms), it will be rendered ineligible. The Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify it and cancel its related rights, qualifications, and awards if the entry wins any awards in the "2025 OnePlus Photography Awards".

How to Participate in the Awards

Participants can submit your entries for free through the official website of the "2025 OnePlus Photography Awards" or the official partner site 500px. The title of the corresponding entry (up to 10 words) and the story of the entry (up to 100 words) must be provided.
Please upload your entries in time during the submission period. After the submission deadline, no uploads or modifications will be accepted.
Copyrights of the entries belong to the corresponding participants, who authorize the Sponsor to showcase the entries via OnePlus social media, OnePlus official website and other channels. For that reason, the Sponsor will not separately inform the participants or require their consents to using their entries.

Judging Criteria & Judging Process:

Judging Criteria:

Criteria include but are not limited to composition, creativity, relevance, and visual storytelling.

Judging Process:

Preliminary Review: During the submission period, the Committee will periodically select preliminary entries without quantity limitation.
Finalisting: After submissions close, the Committee will conduct a unified review of preliminary entries and select finalists. Approximately 100 finalists will be retained for each competition category.
Judging Panel Scoring: Finalists will be scored by the judging panel, assigning each entry a score between 1-100 (ensuring effective differentiation). Judges will not communicate their opinions and will score independently.
Score Calculation: Score of each entry will be calculated by the Committee to determine the ranking and final results.
Results Publicity Period: Proposed winning entries and related information will be publicly announced for public feedback and supervision.
Winner Announcement: After the publicity period, final results will be announced, combining the contest's philosophy, judges’ opinions, the Committee’s opinions, and public supervision.

Note: Participants who voluntarily request to withdraw from the contest before August 1, 2025, will forfeit their eligibility for any awards.

Participant Responsibilities and Submission Pledge

Participants must ensure independent, complete, precise and uncontroversial copyright ownership of the entries. Entries must not infringe on any third-party legal rights, including but not limited to copyright, name right, trademark rights, portrait rights, privacy rights, and other legal rights.
Entries must not defame or disparage the Sponsor or any other individual or party by any means.
Entries must not contain improper, crude, erotic or infringing content, or content that shows hatred, spreads rumors and convey libel.
Entries must not contain content that propagates prejudice against any groups or individuals or discrimination against any races, or show hatred or injury; or the content that supports discrimination against any race, religion, nationalities, handicap, sexual orientation or age.
Entries must not contain content that is illegal, breaks laws or violates rules and regulations or the social morality (if applicable) of any jurisdictions where the entry was created and submitted.
Entries must not propagate illegal drugs and guns (or use either of the two items), any activity that looks unsafe or dangerous, or any information that carries any specific political motives.
Participants undertake to comply with applicable laws and regulations in their jurisdiction and must not post or upload illegal content related to politics, pornography, violence, or terrorism.
Entries do not represent the views or stand of OnePlus. OnePlus reserves the right to use technical or manual methods to review all submitted entries. If any entry violates the aforementioned terms, OnePlus reserves the right to disqualify the entry and all associated rights and qualifications.

To provide services such as participant identification and entry verification, we will collect your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Policy of this site to the extent permitted by the above-mentioned purposes and applicable laws. Please refer to the Privacy Policy for more details.

Winner Announcement

The results will be announced in August 19, 2025. A two-week results publicity period will follow for public supervision.
The winners will be announced on the official website. After the publicity period, the Committee will inform winners via SMS, phone, or email.
For any feedback or questions about the results, please email the Committee at photoawards@oneplus.com. No feedback will be accepted after the results publicity period. If any violations are found during this period, the offending entries will be disqualified, and the awards will be passed on to other participants. The offending participants shall be held legally responsible for such violations. The Committee shall the right to withdraw the prizes, titles and other granted rights and interests, and announce it on the official website.
If a winner’s provided contact information is incomplete or incorrect, and the Sponsor cannot reach out to the winner and the winner does not take the initiative to contact the Sponsor within fifteen (15) working days after the winner list is announced, or if the winner explicitly waives his/her right to the award, or fails to submit the required documents within the specified time, or if the submitted documents do not meet the Sponsor’s requirements, the winner will be deemed to forfeit his/her right to the award. The Sponsor will not bear any consequences and will not redistribute the prize later.

License Clause

The "2025 OnePlus Photography Awards" is a global contest. If your entry is selected by the Sponsor as an outstanding entry, the entry and related information will be publicly showcased. Other users can view your entry, along with your nickname and other necessary information, through the "2025 OnePlus Photography Awards" website and OnePlus official channels, as well as through official partners and authorized third-parties. The participants shall agree to give non-exclusive, non-revocable and non-transferable authorization to the Sponsor and the affiliated entities and the authorized third-parties to use their entries as from the submission date as part of the activities and materials to promote the Awards and OnePlus Imaging Capability for free (3 years, from 00:00 February 7, 2025 to 23:59 February 7, 2028, UTC +8). You agree that your entries are not required to be deleted from any media after the licensed period as long as they are not actively advertised.), and to use the entries for the global online media, print media, printed materials, photography exhibitions, retail shops, roadshows, digital media, outdoor media, among other channels to introduce the Awards and its content. For that reason, the Sponsor will not separately inform the participants or require their consents to using their entries.

All the materials on the official website of the "2025 OnePlus Photography Awards" are under protection by the copyright laws of the countries around the world. Without the prior written consent of OnePlus, no one shall reference, modify, distribute copies, display or authorize others to use and make marketing materials and etc. (hereinafter referred to as "use") the aforesaid materials for commercial or non-commercial purpose by any means, including duplication, modification, uploading, posting, transmission, distribution, licensing, sale or publication. If any participant needs to use the materials on the official website of the "2025 OnePlus Photography Awards" for any other purposes than the proper individual purpose, the prior written consent from OnePlus shall be obtained.

Disclaimer and Liability Restriction Clause

Disclaimer

Each one of the participants shall recognize that the entries by other participants may have the similar creative ideas or concepts to your own. Every participant shall understand and agree that he or she shall not lodge any claim from the Sponsor due to the similarity of the creative ideas or concepts.

Although OnePlus will try its best to provide as accurate and up-to-date information as possible on the official website of the "2025 OnePlus Photography Awards", OnePlus does not guarantee or offer any statements about the accuracy, correctness, reliability or other aspects about the information, and shall not bear any liabilities for the omission or incorrectness (including but limited to typos and technical errors) of the information. If you find any of the above, please let us know, and we will do our best to make corrections.

You shall be responsible for any risks that occur to you when you use the information or browse the website. OnePlus or any parties engaged in building, making or delivering the website, the title sponsors and supporters of the contest, or the third parties and partners affiliated to OnePlus shall not bear any liabilities for the incidental, consequential, indirect or punitive damages, including but not limited to the damage to computer facilities or virus infection, or other property damage, arising from the visit, use, browsing or downloading of any materials, data, texts, photos, videos or audios. Besides the aforesaid items, all the content on the website is provided "as is", but no explicit or implicit guarantee will be offered, including but not limited to any implicit guarantee about the merchantability, applicability for a certain purpose, or non-infringement of the content.

Liability Restriction Clause

Participation in the contest will be deemed as you agree with these Terms and Conditions. Where relevant laws and regulations permit, the Sponsor shall have the final right to interpret all the relevant matters of the Awards, including but not limited to the standard terms and conditions of the contest rules of the Awards, and the final results by the judge panel shall have the binding force on this contest. Participation in the contest indicates that the participant fully understands and agrees with these Terms and Conditions of the Awards and the decision by the judge panel.

In case any violation of these Terms and Conditions occurs, the Sponsor shall have the right to disqualify the participant from any awards. In the event that any disqualification, legal disputes and other adverse consequences arise from the breach of these Terms and Conditions by any of the participants, he or she shall undertake all liabilities by him or herself, and the Sponsor disclaims any and all liability arising from the aforesaid dispute.

OnePlus reserves the right to adjust the contest rules and these Terms and Conditions in a reasonable range in accordance with the relevant criteria and common practices of similar contests. If the adjustment involves substantial changes, which will affect your rights and obligations, OnePlus will inform you in a proper manner. You are expected to check these Terms and Conditions regularly to ensure your understanding of any alterations by OnePlus. Your continued use of the website after the alteration of the rules means that you accept to be bound by the alterations or/and modifications to these Terms and Conditions.

Dispute Resolution Clause

Any disputes arising from or related to the contest shall be settled through friendly negotiations. Should such dispute fail to be settled through friendly negotiations within five (5) days after the start date of the negotiation, both parties agree to submit such dispute to a People’s Court with jurisdiction of Futian District, Shenzhen, Guang Dong Province, China for litigation. The establishment, entry into force, fulfillment, interpretation and dispute resolution of these Terms and Conditions shall be governed by the relevant laws and regulations of the People’s Republic of China (excluding laws and regulations of Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau). Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall affect consumers in certain countries or regions to enforce their consumer protection rights in accordance with local applicable laws.
